OPTITEC, leader of a European project on biophotonics: OASIS (Opening up Access to Photonics Life Science Infrastructure for SMEs)
Planned for a 30 month period, the OASIS Project is an action aimed at providing support to help SMEs to access life sciences platforms. OASIS will work to define a range of services and tools that may be used by European clusters to help the development of photonics companies working on medical and food and agriculture industry applications.
The aim of this project is to define a model of services destined for SMEs and representatives of academic research to give them a real competitive edge and speed up the time to market of products. The idea is to considerably reduce the Time to Market (from 15 to 5 years) for new imaging and detection techniques.
The consortium is made up of 9 European clusters (OPTITEC, OPTEC BB, PHOTONIC SWEDEN, SECPHO, PHOTONICS NETHERLANDS, PHOTONICS BRETAGNE, SWANSEA UNIVERSITY, OPTOSCANA, POLITECNICO DI MILANO), from 7 countries, involved in development projects in biophotonics at regional and national level.
