CEA Cadarache is one of the 10 research centers of the French Commission of Atomic and Alternative Energies. It is one of the major sources of employment in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (PACA) and one of the heaviest concentrations of specialized scientific staff. Its activities, distributed throughout various research platforms, focus on nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, new energy technologies (hydrogen, solar, biomass) and fundamental research in the field of vegetal biology. Acting as backup to the center, there is also a whole platform of services organized to ensure safety on the site, the management of nuclear waste and both environmental and health monitoring.
